...[very late] UPDATE!

Hello beautiful SHEYNA PUNAMS!

Sorry for the delays in the update department. We've had an amazing (AND BUSY) two months since the campaign ended. Now that we have a sliver of time, we wanted to take a minute to THANK EVERYONE for their generous support during the frenzy of the campaign and our relentless (and shameless!) requests for support. It was NOT in vain friends! We managed to raise $18,000 in just under a month. We're gonna say that again for emphasis, WE RAISED $18,000 IN ONE MONTH! We raised enough to green-light the production AND SO....that's just what we're doing.

So here's a quick breakdown of the last month. We've held auditions in NYC, Boston and Austin and are rounding out our ace production team with some new key players. We've gained some phenomenal cast members (future update on THAT is in the works) and are fine tuning the script and production schedules as we speak. AND SPEAKING OF PRODUCTION SCHEDULES...we've moved things around a bit and this will affect contributor perks. Those of you who will be getting copies of the movie as a perk will have to hold tight JUST a bit longer because, for story line and logistical reasons, we've pushed the schedule back a smidge. This is all for the greater good and what will no doubt be an amazing finished product. We're sorry for any disappointment this may create. FEAR NOT! We have not forgotten you, we just have to be certain your hard earned cash, that you so graciously contributed to our project, is used wisely and in a manner befitting your grandeur! (Have we laid it on thick enough yet...? GREAT!)

Stay tuned for more updates as they come along and keep your eyes peeled for some exciting changes!

Keep checking in on Facebook,TwitterInstagram and our website for updates!

Warmly,

WDKY Cast and Crew

WE DID IT!

Hello everyone!

We just finished our campaign as of June 1st at 11:59PM PST! Our Indiegogo campaign earned us $13,000, plus our match donor has contributed another $5,000 on top of that! Giving us an $18,000 film budget to work with! What an amazing coincidence (or BASHERT as the Yiddish speakers say) that we raised a multiple of CHAI (חי). In Hebrew, the related word chaya means "living thing" or "animal", and is derived from the Hebrew word chai (חי), meaning "life". The letters of chai add up to 18, so Jews often give gifts and donations in multiples of 18, which is called "giving chai".  We weren't even TRYING, but we'll take it!

We all take this as a good sign and are poised to launched into the pre-production phase of this process. Casting, budget writing, shot lists, meetings galore, planes to catch and people to hire! Stay tuned for casting dates in both both Boston and NYC.

We can't even begin to express how humbled and grateful the entire cast and crew of WDKY is, but we will certainly try by making a great film and continuing to engage you all in this process through this blog and social media.  If you haven't already, please "LIKE" us on Facebook and "Follow Us" on Twitter and Instagram! We promise to keep it funny and/or relevant.

Thanks for sticking with us and our incessant posting at the end, it was all for the greater good! WE'RE MAKING A MOVIE! COME ALONG!

WDKY Film Cast & Crew

Actor Alan Blumenfeld on WDKY

We sat down with actor Alan Blumenfeld to get his thoughts on WDKY and actor/co-writer Rebecca Karpovsky. He goes deep into the screenplay, teasing out themes on being a first generation queer in mainstream American culture. We're still in the race to get contributions and our match donor is STILL doubling every contribution until tomorrow June 1st at 11:59PM PST! Time is of the essence!

Pinsky was created with the support of the COJECO Blueprint Fellowship, funded by the UJA-Federation of New York and Genesis Philanthropy Group.
